Not every movie will be a blockbuster, but the movie that can recover the investment is what a producer or a distributor wants at the least. It looks like a set of recent films has scared the producers and distributors badly.
There were five disastrous films in the last eight straight releases in Telugu and each one of them is an epic failure in its own way. The movies with mixed to decent talk mostly recover the monies, but the movies with outright disaster talk go down to crash land.
If a film fails, then it is struggling to recover print and publicity expenses lately. The producers are heard to be hesitating to take up mid-range films after witnessing recent box office disasters.
Well, there is no ‘Meter’ to anticipate a movie’s success, but there can be a successful ‘Dasara’ even with a failed ‘Rama Baanam’ and a disastrous ‘Raavanasura’. It has to be seen what the upcoming films are about to do at the box office.
