Talk of the Town: Malayalam Hit Film In Hyderabad City Backdrop

Malayalam cinema always surprises the Indian trade in carving blockbusters with limited budgets. The latest Malayalam film to be added to the list is Premalu. Directed by Girish, the film was made on a budget of 3 crore rupees, and it already surpassed a revenue of 6 crore rupees in the first week.

Premalu is a romantic drama set in the backdrop of Hyderabad and the youthful elements of the film pulled crowds to theatres. The film’s plot revolves around a young man grappling with academic setbacks, contemplating a move to the UK for a better future. In contrast, an ambitious woman arrives in Hyderabad for her first software job. Their paths cross at a wedding, leading to a blossoming romance. The crux of the narrative lies in how their differing life perspectives converge amidst the backdrop of the boys’ GATE exam preparations and the girls’ clarity about their goals.

Naslen K. Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju played the lead roles in the film and the actors command a good fan base across South. Mamitha especially garnered huge attention on social media. Even director Girish is a noted director in Malayalam who directed some interesting films like Thanneer Mathan Dinangal, and Super Sharanya.

Premalu will surely work as a dubbed film in Telugu and we have to see if that is being planned by anyone in the coming days.
