Shah Rukh Khan scored his biggest-ever hit in his comeback last year with the film Pathaan. Billed to be a gripping spy action thriller directed by Aditya Chopra, the film was released in January last year. The film smashed all box office records by surpassing the Rs. 1000 crore mark. Now, speculations are rife about the potential sequel, ‘Pathaan 2.’
The Bollywood sources confirm that Pathaan 2 is in the works under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Reports suggest that Yash Raj Films already initiated pre-production activities for the sequel, with plans to commence filming by the end of this year.
This upcoming installment is expected to be a cornerstone in Yash Raj’s spy universe. Moreover, industry insiders hint that there is an effort to expedite the production of ‘Pathaan 2’ to precede the highly anticipated ‘Tiger vs. Pathan,’ featuring both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
Deepika Padukone played the female lead in the film’s first part. More details on the project will be out soon.
