There was once a time when veteran actor Siddharth was one of the most loved heroes and Tollywood. But with time, he grew irrelevant with inconsistent filmography, and as a result, he mostly confined himself to Tamil films in recent years.
However, cut to now, Siddharth is back in the news for making a couple of controversial comments on Pushpa 2. In a recent Tamil interview he was asked to react on the kind of crowds Pushpa 2 is generating in places like Bihar and other Indian belts. He replied saying this is no big deal as people in India will watch even a JCB at work and are primarily focus’s on beer and biryani while attending public events.
After the comment blew up, Siddharth was again asked to clarify the ‘problem’ that he has with Allu Arjun and Pushpa 2. He tried to pacify the situation with an amicable statement.
“I don’t have a problem with anyone. Congrats to the team of Pushpa 2. The first part was a big hit and now with the sequel, they are accumulating crowds in places where first part did well. It’s good that audiences are coming in big numbers to theaters. Let’s hope they will continue to flock theaters for other films as well.”
The early reaction from netizens to Siddharth’s first comment on downplaying Pushpa 2 was he unnecessarily spat venom on the film instead of being gracious about it. The yesteryear hero tried to pacify this a bit with his generic statement now. But the reluctance to full embrace Pushpa is still evident though.
