After more than six months of their arrest, Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, his friend Pavithra Gowda and seven others were granted bail.
All of them were arrested for their ‘role’ in the Renukaswamy murder case.
On October 30, the film actor had received six weeks of interim bail from Karnataka High Court on medical grounds for a back surgery.
During hearing on Monday this week, the Karnataka High Court reserved its order. The prosecution argued that Thoogudeepa had not undergone back surgery yet and a regular bail could be misused.
Thoogudeepa was arrested on June 11, 2024 in Mysuru city in connection with the murder of Renukaswamy.
In January 2024, he was booked under the Excise and Karnataka Police Act for allegedly partying in a bar, beyond the permitted time.
In 2011 too, he was arrested after his wife complained of domestic violence by the actor.
