Daaku Maharaaj is currently in the theatres now. Nandamuri Balakrishna played the titular role, directed by KS Ravindra. The film is a proper commercial action drama and it has been declared a hit already.
The major contributing factor for the success of Daaku Maharaaj is Balayya’s acceptance to the feedback from general audiences.
Balakrishna is a crowd-puller, and a lot of families also watch his films on the release day. In the past, most of Balakrishna’s commercial action films had unwanted comedy scenes and irrelevant cringe love stories that grew between the lead pair.
With the changing tastes of the audiences, they are game for larger-than-life sequences but not a cringe love story where Balayya tries to woo the audience. It is not just the case with him but all his contemporaries too. Balakrishna did the right thing by avoiding the love track along with eliminating the unwanted comedy tracks that are used as fillers.
When Urvashi Rautela appears on the screen, one must commonly guess that there would be some track between Balayya and Urvashi. However, there are no such scenes. The team also directly introduced Pragya Jaiswal as Balayya’s wife in the film, eliminating the scope for unwanted romantic tracks.
Even in his last film Bhagvanth Kesari, Balayya safely avoided cringe elements despite Kajal Aggarwal being present as the leading lady. The team focused to drive the film more, as per the emotion in the story.
Daaku Maharaaj is one of the best commercial films in NBK’s career in the last one decade and if he continues to follow the strategy he adopted for this film, he would surely become a ‘game changer.’
Now with Akhanda 2 in the pipeline, Balakrishna might follow the same mantra in order to taste the success.
