Y+ Security For TVK Vijay Due To Threats

Thalapathy Vijay, who started his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) last year, has now been granted “Y+” category security by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Reportedly, the Ministry took this decision due to thereat assessment report from the Intelligence Bureau.

The government of India gives security cover based on the level of threat, which is evaluated by the Intelligence Bureau. The Y+ category security is the fourth finest security system in our country. A total of 11 security personnel will be guarding Vijay from now on. Of these, four will be commandos and the rest will be police officials.

The highest-ranked security system in India is the Special Protection Group (SPG), which will be given to the Prime Minister and his immediate family members, former PMs and their immediate family members for a certain limited period of time after the completion of their tenure. Supreme armed forces will be a part of this security system.

The second-ranked security system is the Z+ category, which will be given to high-risk VIPs. It includes security personnel of around 30 members.

The third highest-ranked security system is the Z category, which is given to senior leaders and high-risk VIPs. This security system consists of around 20 personnel.

The Y+ category, which has now been given to Vijay, is a security system provided to high-profile individuals, VIPs, and those facing moderate threats.

The last one is X category protection, which is the basic among all and is given to individuals with low-level security threats. The security consists of a Personal Security Officer (PSO) for close protection.

The Tamil Nadu elections are due next year. Vijay already started ground work and will participate in active politics once he is done with his current film commitments. Recently, Vijay also met political strategist Prashant Kishor who assured to guide him in the 2026 Assembly Elections.
