Court is the only film that performed beyond expectations in March at the Tollywood box office. With five movies coming out in the last week of March, the audiences will have diverse entertainment options at theatres.
Robinwood, Mad Square, Lucifer 2: Empuraan, Veera Dheera Shoora, and Sikandar will entertain the audience this week. The first two are only straight Telugu films.
Nithin’s Robinwood, featuring Sreeleela as the heroine, has generated buzz with David Warner’s guest appearance and the hit song Adi dha Surprise. The teaser and trailer have been well received, and given the current demand for comedy films, this could be Nithin’s chance to break his streak of flops.
Mad Square, releasing on March 28, is expected to draw a strong college-going audience following the success of its predecessor. A premiere on the 27th is being considered, but bookings are already open.
Mohanlal’s Lucifer 2, directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, arrives on March 27. The first film was a major success, later remade in Telugu as Godfather. There are high expectations of Empuraan.
Veera Dheera Shoora, starring Vikram, has relatively less hype compared to the others. However, with S.J. Suryah playing a key role, there is hope that the film will do well.
Meanwhile, Bollywood’s Sikander, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, is also set to release at the month’s end. While its impact on B and C centers may be limited, a Salman-starrer always draws attention.
