Rashmika Mandanna who has been riding high on consecutive hits, has faced a setback in Hindi cinema. Rashmika was recently seen in Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, starring Salman Khan in the lead. The film was released on the eve of Eid and it failed at the box office.
On its opening day, Sikander collected only 26 crores in India, marking one of the lowest openings in Salman Khan’s career. It is a moment of embarrassment for Salman Khan and his fans are completely disappointed. The main reasons cited for its poor performance are a lack of substance in the story and a weak screenplay. The movie opened to negative reviews from the morning show itself.
Rashmika, who has built a brand in Bollywood with hits like Pushpa, Animal, and Chhaava, this marks her first significant flop in the Hindi film industry.
While every actor goes through ups and downs, this unexpected flop might feel like a dent in Rashmika’s Bollywood journey, especially after being associated with several blockbusters.
