Producer Naga Vamsi, head of Sithara Entertainments addressed the media today, to share his anguish about the film reviews. During a press meet, he made aggressive comments and openly challenged the press to ignore him. The comments are made in the wake of the release of his film Mad Square, which was released on March 28th.
In a bold statement, he challenged those who disliked him or his films to boycott his productions completely. “If you hate me that much, ban my films, don’t write about them, and don’t take ads from me. Then I will show you how to promote my film without your support,” he stated defiantly.
Upon its release, Mad Square received average reviews, in contrast to the reviews of the first part. The film also faced criticism for its high ticket rates. Moreover, some media outlets and websites have alleged that the makers are inflating the film’s box office collections, claiming that the numbers are significantly lower than reported.
During the press meet, Naga Vamsi expressed his frustration over the ongoing negative reviews and accusations of false collections. He directly challenged those questioning the numbers, inviting them to verify the actual collections with him.
Naga Vamsi also emphasized that he has no need to display “housefull” boards if the collections are not genuinely good, especially when even big-hero films sometimes fail to draw audiences.
Naga Vamsi criticized few media outlets and reviewers for not supporting the film even when it is performing well, questioning why there seems to be an effort to bring down the movie despite its success.
