Finally, Liger Heroine Gets Her Break

We saw Bollywood actor Chunky Panday’s daughter, Ananya Panday, make her Telugu debut with Liger. The film turned out to be a disaster, and while there was some buzz around her expressions and acting, most of it was criticism. With her stiff expressions and barely-there performance, she didn’t really manage to impress.

Ananya stepped into films back in 2019, and even after all these years, she doesn’t really have a “career-best” to boast about. She hasn’t had a single blockbuster, and though a couple of films did okay, she hasn’t left a lasting impression. That’s exactly why her name always pops up whenever there’s a debate about nepotism.

But now, after all these years, it looks like she finally landed a solid role in Kesari Chapter 2. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is set against the powerful backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and stars Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan in lead roles. The reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and word of mouth is only getting stronger. Currently, it’s the only film selling nearly 10,000 tickets per hour on BookMyShow.

Ananya plays the role of Dilreet Gill, and she’s actually pulled off a surprisingly good performance. Acting alongside so many seasoned actors and still making a mark—that’s definitely worth appreciating.

Kesari 2 could be the turning point Ananya Panday has been waiting for—a chance to break out of the “nepo-kid with no depth” image. Analysts feel this might finally be her big break. Even with experienced actresses like Regina Cassandra playing prominent roles (Akshay Kumar’s wife, in this case), Ananya still managed to hold her own and make her presence felt.

For Akshay Kumar, who’s been desperate for a big hit for a long time, Kesari 2 seems like a much-needed win. It might not break box office records, but it’s definitely heading toward being a super hit. Whether it becomes something even bigger, we’ll know in the next week or so.
