Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has filed his nomination for Rajyasabha as a candidate from Tamil Nadu. His nomination is facilitated through a seat allotted by the ruling party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) to its ally MNM. This move is being viewed as a strategic move ahead of the 2026 state assembly polls.
Kamal Haasan’s entry into the Rajya Sabha race underscores the growing partnership between MNM and DMK. The nomination of Kamal, along with three others, were submitted in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat.
On the film front, Kamal Haasan’s new movie Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam was released yesterday.
