The Telugu film industry has been going through a rough phase over the last few months. None of the films released in the last couple of months managed to drag audiences to theatres, except for HIT 3 and Single. Finally, it looks like the dull phase is going to end as Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa opened to a positive talk.
Starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna in the lead roles, Kuberaa was released today, We Gulte.com goes with 3.25/5 rating and the early reports too from overseas premieres suggest a positive talk for the film. People praise Dhanush’s emotionally powered drama and sensational performance.
Though the editing might feel choppy, people will come out of the film satisfied in the end. Based on these positive reviews, trade experts expect Kuberaa to do well at the box office and revive the Telugu cinema’s business.
The theatrical values of Kuberaa in AP and Telangana are capped at around Rs. 30 crore, and the worldwide value is around Rs. 70 crore, including expenses. The film needs to gross around Rs. 140 crore to cross the breakeven mark.
The film crossed the $400k mark in the United States so far. As the talk is good, we have to see how Kuberaa’s collections hold up at the box office. However, the ticket price hike in Andhra Pradesh could turn a barrier for the team.
Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, Kuberaa features Rashmika and Jim Sarbh in other key roles. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music for it.
