Official: Hindi Title Confirmed for Coolie

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is heading for a Hindi release along with the South release. The film will directly clash with WAR 2 at the box office. Interestingly, debunking early reports about a title change for the Hindi version, the makers officially confirmed that there is no truth in the same. In the recently released poster, the team carried the title, Coolie, written in Hindi, along with the caption – The Power House.

Earlier, there were reports that the film will have Majadoor in Hindi. Not sure why the reports surfaced and if the makers really considered changing it. With 50 days left for the film’s release, the team released posters, featuring Rajinikanth along with the titles. For the Hindi version alone, the team added ‘The Power House’ caption.

There is a blockbuster Hindi film titled Coolie, starring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. Later came, Coolie no.1 starring Govinda and the most recent one, with the title Coolie no.1, starring Varun Dhawan. Amitabh’s Coolie is a run away hit in Hindi which brought more commercial success to the actor.

Often times, the word Coolie also reminds us Amitabh Bachchan and his performance. Even in South, we already have the film with the same title but this time, it is Rajini’s special and needless to say that he is the real powerhouse for the fans.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film unit made a smart decision to have the same title for all languages. Now, we have to see if the performance is also uniform across languages. The film hits the screens on August 14th.
