In today’s film industry, fake hype has almost become the norm. From YouTube views and likes on trailers to inflated box office posters, many producers are spending money to create an illusion of success. But producer Dil Raju has decided to take a different path.
After facing backlash during the promotions of Game Changer, Dil Raju made a firm decision: no more paid promotions for views, likes, or fake box office numbers. Starting with his latest film Thammudu, he chose to stay completely honest.
The views and likes for the Thammudu trailers were significantly lower than those of Nithiin’s earlier film Robinhood, clearly showing that no artificial boosting was done. Even on release day, when the film received mixed talk and collected only ₹4 crore gross worldwide, the team didn’t release exaggerated posters or conduct a “success meet.”
In an industry where flop films are often celebrated with grand events and fake claims of success, Dil Raju’s transparency stood out. He didn’t try to mislead the media or the audience. Regardless of the film’s performance, his honesty has earned respect.
Many in the industry are now appreciating this move, and some feel it’s time others follow his lead.
