From Fauji To Galwan: Here Is A Look At Upcoming Patriotic Films

We have been getting a lot of patriotic movies in the recent past, including the likes of Fighter, Sky Force, The Diplomat and Sarzameen. There are also quite a few patriotic movies which are in various stages of production. Here is a look at them.

Army-Based Films:

Fauji:

Starring Prabhas in the lead role, this period war drama is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Prabhas plays the role of a soldier in the film. It is slated for release in 2026.

Lahore 1947:

Starring Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan in the lead roles, this Rajkumar Santoshi directorial is set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan partition. It is slated for release later this year.

Battle of Galwan:

Salman Khan and noted director Apoorva Lakhia teamed up for the movie “Battle of Galwan”, which is based on the significant moment of the 1962 Indo-China war. Chitrangadha Singh plays the female lead in it.

120 Bahadur:

Based on the Battle of Rezang La during the  1962 Indo-China war, this movie features Farhan Akhtar in the lead role. Directed by Razneesh Ghai, this movie is slated for release on November 21, 2025.

Spy-Based Films:

Goodachari 2:

After the success of Goodachari, Adivi Sesh is coming back with its sequel, Goodachari 2. Directed by Vinay Singireddy, this movie is slated for release in 2026. Sesh plays the role of Agent Gopi 116 in the movie.

Sardar 2:

Following the success of Sardar, hero Karthi and director PS Mithran teamed up for the film Sardar 2. It is slated for release during Diwali this year. Karthi plays a dual role in the film, as a father and son. While the father is a spy, the son is a police officer.

Others:

The India House:

Starring Nikhil Siddhartha in the lead role, this movie is set in London during the pre-independence era. Ram Charan is presenting the project, and Abhishek Agarwal is producing it. The movie is currently in production.

Dragon:

Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel have teamed up for an action thriller, which is reportedly titled Dragon. Though it was not stated that the film would have a patriotic background, we hear that the makers recently shot a song in which there are lyrics saying “Vandemataram”. These reports suggest whether the film has a patriotic backdrop.
