Is Deepika Padukone Playing Victim Card?

The team behind Prabhas’s Kalki has decided to remove Deepika Padukone from the sequel, citing concerns about her professionalism and commitment. Earlier, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga also opted not to continue with her for Spirit.

Deepika has not responded directly to these reports but appeared to share a subtle message while announcing a new film with Shah Rukh Khan. She wrote that the first lesson she learned from him during Om Shanti Om was that “the experience of making a movie, and the people you make it with, matter far more than its success.” She added that this philosophy guided her choices and is the reason they are collaborating again for their sixth film together.

Her statement is being seen by some as an indirect reference to the situation with Kalki and Spirit. However, the Kalki makers point out that the film’s production went smoothly with its large ensemble cast, and no one else raised concerns about Vyjayanthi Movies’ work ethic.

Industry circles believe that if Deepika disagrees with the reasons being cited, it would be better for her to issue a clear statement rather than share cryptic remarks.
