A.R. Murugadoss’ Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kajal Aggarwal, was released with high expectations but failed to make an impact at the box office. The film, designed as a large-scale action entertainer, struggled both critically and commercially.
During the promotions of his recent release, Madharaasi, Murugadoss opened up about the difficulties he faced while making Sikandar. He said the film was shot at a time when Salman had received serious threats, which led to strict security restrictions.
The director claimed he was allowed to shoot only after 9 PM and mostly indoors, limiting his creative options. He also mentioned that Salman often arrived late, forcing the team to shoot late into the night and depend heavily on VFX. Murugadoss added that constant interference in the script made the process even tougher.
Until now, Salman had stayed quiet about these remarks. But he finally reacted during the latest Bigg Boss 19 weekend episode, using his trademark humor and sarcasm.
When comedian Ravi Gupta asked him to name his worst films, Salman mentioned Suryavanshi and even Sikandar, admitting that the audience rejected it but defending its unique plot. That’s when Salman took a playful jab at Murugadoss’ claims. He clarified that his late arrivals were due to health issues and not negligence, countering the director’s version of events with.
He also mocked Murugadoss’ recent release Madharaasi, referring to it as a “big film and an equally big blockbuster” in a clearly sarcastic tone. He added that Sikandar initially belonged to Murugadoss and the producer, but both eventually left, with Murugadoss moving on to direct Madharaasi.
