It was already known that the Rangasthalam duo, Ram Charan and director Sukumar, would reunite for a new film, tentatively titled RC 17. However, for the last few weeks, there have been multiple rumours circulating in the media, hinting at its delay and postponement. Clearing all those rumours, the producers of the film confirmed that the shoot of RC 17 will begin in April or May next year.
For the last few weeks, it was heavily rumoured in the media that Ram Charan might work with Trivikram for a new film after Peddi, and not the one with Sukumar. On the other hand, it was also speculated that Sukumar would direct a film for Shah Rukh Khan before taking RC 17 on floors. These rumours worried Mega fans a bit and created doubts about RC 17’s fate.
Finally, producer Naveen Yerneni of Mythri Movie Makers was asked about the film at Dude press meet today. Responding to the same, Naveen confirmed that the shoot of RC 17 will begin either in April or May 2026, once Ram Charan wraps up his ongoing project, Peddi. So, it is now confirmed that Sukumar and Charan’s project is on track and will be the immediate film for the actor after Peddi’s release.
Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, is slated for worldwide release on March 27, 2026. So, Charan would be kickstarting RC 17, either in April or May, right after the release of Peddi.
