Ranveer Singh’s Durandhar is currently putting the Indian box office on fire. The raining revenues is an example of how the film is impressing the masses. However, there is a criticism going around the film that the India-Pak narrative has to come to an end in spy films like this. Surprisingly, Hrithik Roshan took to his Instagram, sharing a review where one of the remarks attracted controversy.
In his Instagram story, Hrithik wrote, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema.”
However, he also added, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.”
Hrithik Roshan pointed out that the responsibilities of the filmmakers should be good enough to tell a story and not carry politics through cinema. Many are already claiming that the film is serving the purpose of propaganda. In such a scenario, what Hrithik commented is also indirectly hinting at the same.
Meanwhile, those who oppose Hrithik are criticising him saying that India has suffered greatly due to multiple attacks carried out by Pakistani terrorists and there is nothing wrong in presenting facts through cinema.
Whatever it may be, Hrithik’s comments sparked a lot of debate in Bollywood. We have to see if more established stars share their opinions over the same.
