Dhurandhar’s Rampage – Will It Beat Chhaava & Kantara?

Bollywood’s latest offering Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, is making a killing at the box office in all territories even a week after its release on December 5th. After an impressive start last Friday, the film ended the first week’s run on a phenomenal note and now eyes another terrific weekend at the ticket windows.

By the end of Friday, the film notched up close to 240 Crores net in India as per early trade estimates. The worldwide collections have already surpassed the 300 Crore mark by the end of first week, which is nothing short of sensation given that industry circles did not predict such a mayhem at the box office before the film’s release.

Propelled by the patriotic fervor and targeted controversies, the film gained huge momentum and packed a solid punch during the weekdays as well.

The second weekend haul is expected to be witness a similar trend like the first weekend collections going by the prediction of trade analysts. So, joining the coveted 500 Crore club is going to be a canter for Dhurandhar in the coming days. This will be a huge achievement for a film which was rated ‘A’ and also considering that it was banned in gulf countries with sizeable population of Indian diaspora.

Though it is too early to predict the closing run of this Aditya Dhar directional, the chances for emerging as the highest grossing film of 2025 cannot be ruled out completely after seeing the steady growth in occupancies in the weekdays. Dhurandhar stands a chance to emulate biggest Bollywood blockbusters like Chhaava and Saiyaara.

To become the highest grossing film of 2025, Dhurandhar will need to amass close to 850 Crores and topple Kantara Chapter 1. It will be historic feat if Dhurandhar goes past this milestone in the long run. The next few days will decide the range of the film.
