Akhanda 2 appeared to be losing steam after receiving mixed feedback. Though the opening weekend was decent, weekday collections slowed down, and profit chances started looking weak. The release of Avatar 3 further added pressure, pushing Akhanda 2 to the background.
However, the situation changed unexpectedly. Avatar 3 failed to attract strong Indian audiences, and with no new releases arriving this weekend, moviegoers had limited choices. This worked in favor of Akhanda 2.
Sunday saw a noticeable rise in bookings. Many viewers who had postponed watching the film earlier decided to give it a try, leading to better footfalls across several centres. The weekend rush gave the film some much needed relief.
The recovery may be temporary, but for now, Akhanda 2 has gained breathing space. That single Sunday has kept the film in the race a little longer.
