Megastar Chiranjeevi returns to his vintage charm with the out-and-out family entertainer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and audiences are absolutely loving it. This strong reception is clearly reflecting at the box office. The film registered the highest bookings for a regional movie, selling 488.32K tickets on BookMyShow in the last 24 hours alone.
This Anil Ravipudi directorial, which is drawing family audiences in huge numbers, raked in 84 Cr worldwide on Day 1 which is Chiranjeevi’s career-best opening, surpassing the previous record set by Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. An official announcement from the makers is expected to be out shortly.
Typically, films that release on a Friday enjoy the benefit of massive early bookings. Yet, MSG, despite releasing on a Monday, managed to mint exceptional numbers. Bookings for today are equally strong, and with the holiday season set to begin tomorrow, the film is likely to gain an even bigger advantage.
In North America, MSG has already crossed $1.7M+ on Day 1 (including premieres) and is on track to deliver the biggest opening of Chiranjeevi’s career by a huge margin.
