After creating a rampage at the Tollywood box office during the Sankranti week, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest smash hit Mana Shankar Vara Prasad garu passed the crucial weekday test with a decent hold from this Monday. The Anil Ravipudi directional has already toppled numerous records among regional films and emerged as an outright blockbuster.
As the film completed ten days run since its release, the ticket fares are back at normal prices from yesterday ( Thursday). The comedy action drama is witnessing decent footfalls in major territories of Telugu states. With regular ticket pricing, the film now aims for another promising weekend followed by a solid haul on the Republic Day holiday which falls on Monday.
The makers missed a trick by not opting for normal ticket prices from Monday itself as such a strategy could have ensured better revenues in B and C centres which saw considerable drop in numbers during weekdays. The film has already secured the Sankranti Winner tag and also became the first big hit of the year.
With a long weekend ahead, all eyes are now on the film’s box office momentum. It will be interesting to see whether the film can make a strong push during the long weekend and inch closer to the coveted ₹400 crore mark.
Chiranjeevi’s crowd pleasing performance and Anil Ravipudi’s hilarious writing landed the jokes extremely well and generated unanimous reports for the film from the early premiere shows on the release day which ultimately played a significant role in making it a huge blockbuster.
Despite a flurry of releases during the much celebrated Sankranti festival, Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu dominated the festival season by riding on Chiranjeevi’s charisma and Anil Ravipudi’s track record.
