If Pawan Takes Peddi’s Date, Harish May Need to Speed Up!

2026 started on a bang for Tollywood with the much hyped Sankranti turning out to be a lucrative season for box office as majority of the festival releases managed to secure hit status with impressive revenues. Now, the attention shifts towards the next prominent release window which is going to be the Summer season. 

Ram Charan’s highly anticipated rural drama Peddi officially announced its release plans for Summer 2026. Despite the fact that the makers have reiterated March 27th as the release date of Peddi several times, rumours are rife that the film might get postponed in view of pending shooting and post production activities and also because of the new Court ruling with regard to stipulated time gap for increase in ticket fares. 

While the uncertainty over Peddi release date continues, there is a fresh buzz in industry circles that Pawan Kalyan’s long awaited cop thriller Ustaad Bhagat Singh might occupy March 27th in case Peddi gets postponed in the last minute. It will be an ideal release date for a marquee film like Ustaad Bhagat Singh if no other movies targets the same date if Peddi fails to make it to screens. 

Ustaad Bhagat Singh will have a strong chance to storm the box office in the last week of March due to the good buzz among audiences as Pawan Kalyan’s previous film OG shattered numerous records and emerged as the highest grossing film in his career. The high expectations on Harish Shankar – Pawan Kalyan combination are adding to the hype on the film. 

For Ustaad to occupy Peddi slot, Harish Shankar will have his task cut out to get the film ready in all aspects well in advance to make sure that it releases for March 27th. There is considerable amount of patch work still left for Ustaad Bhagat Singh. Also, there will be adequate production activities before the release date. 

Harish Shankar will need to complete everything well in advance and get the final copy ready at least one week before the film’s release so that both the domestic and overseas release will not be impacted due to the last minute rush. Both Hari Hara Veera Mallu and OG failed to get proper premieres in overseas as prints were delayed due to post production activities.

With only two months left for release in case Peddi pulls out of the pre Summer race, Harish Shankar should make sure that Ustaad Bhagat Singh does not miss out on the big opportunity and hits the screens on March 27th.
