In a scene drenched in divinity and culture, National-award winning director Prasanth Varma’s Jai Hanuman was launched at Anjanadri Betta in Hampi, marking the start of one of India’s most ambitious mythological films. The location, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, made the occasion truly monumental.
After the historic success of HanuMan, Prasanth Varma now moves to the next chapter of his cinematic universe, with Mythri Movie Makers backing the project and T-Series presenting it. The film is being mounted on a massive scale, both visually and spiritually.
Rishab Shetty, who received national award for Kantara and last appeared in the blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1, takes on the divine mantle of Lord Hanuman. His transformation and presence in the first-look poster created a national wave, signalling a portrayal of raw power and deep devotion.
The inaugural proceedings saw Bhushan Kumar sounding the clapboard and Anil Thadani switching on the camera, with the first shot directed by Teja Sajja. Before that, the core team- Anil Thadani, Bhushan Kumar, Naveen Yerneni, and Ravi Shankar- handed the script to director Prasanth Varma.
The film brings together a highly accomplished technical team, with music by M.M. Keeravani, cinematography by S. Thirunavukkarasu, and production design by Srinagendhra Thangala.
Set in the Kaliyug timeline and driven by the narrative of Hanuman’s Agnyathavas, the film explores silence as strength and restraint as divine purpose. Jai Hanuman aims to redefine mythological cinema in scale, storytelling, and emotional depth.
The makers are planning to begin regular shoot of the movie soon.
