Citadel 2 Trailer: Can It Revive Priyanka’s Hollywood Career?

After moving to Hollywood, Priyanka Chopra Jonas worked on a few notable projects with major studios. One of them is Citadel, a high-budget action drama web series backed by Amazon Prime Video. The Russo Brothers of Avengers fame are the executive producers of this series.

Despite being released with huge anticipation, the first season ended up as an average venture with mixed reviews. Later, the series had a spinoff in India, titled “Citadel India: Honey Bunny”, featuring Varun Dhawan and Samantha in lead roles. Even that series ended up as a failure. Now, Prime Video is back with Citadel Season 2.

Ahead of its premiere on May 6, the trailer of Citadel 2 was unveiled recently. Lead spy characters Mason Kane (Richard Madden), Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra), and Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) reunite in this new season for a new mission.

The trailer showcases them joining hands once again for a deadly mission that spans across the world. The series looks rich in action and twists. But the main question is whether it will gain a good response and revive PC’s Hollywood career.

Netizens felt the trailer was impressive and looked better than its predecessor. So, it remains to be seen if Citadel 2 manages to gain a positive response once it premieres on Prime Video. Otherwise, there are high chances of it not being renewed for another season.

If Citadel 2 garners a good response, it would also help in generating good buzz for Priyanka’s next global project, Varanasi, on an international level. As most of her recent Hollywood projects have been box office flops, Priyanka definitely needs a success with Citadel 2.

Citadel Season 2 features a total of seven episodes. Lesley Manville, Ashleigh Cummings, Jack Reynor, Matt Berry, Lina El Arabi, Merle Dandridge, Gabriel Leone, and Rayna Vallandingham play other key roles in the series.
