Actress Nayanthara is all set for an unusual box office clash on August 28. Two films featuring the popular star will release on the same week, making it a special occasion for her fans.

Nayanthara and Kavin’s romantic comedy drama HI is now scheduled for a worldwide release on August 28. It will arrive two days after Yash’s much awaited action film Toxic, which is set to release on August 26.

In HI, Nayanthara plays the female lead opposite Kavin in what marks their first-ever on-screen collaboration. The film is directed by debutant Vishnu Edavan and is expected to be a light-hearted romantic comedy-drama.

At the same time, Nayanthara will also be seen as Ganga in Toxic, which stars Yash in the lead role. Unlike HI, where she has a full-length role, Toxic features an ensemble cast that includes Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi alongside Yash.

The same week release has created excitement among Nayan’s fans, with many calling it a Nayanthara vs Nayanthara clash at the box office.

Some fans believe releasing HI alongside a big-budget film like Toxic is a risky move. However, others feel that if HI receives positive reviews and strong word-of-mouth, it can still attract family audiences and carve out its own space in theatres despite the competition.

With two very different films hitting cinemas with just two days gap, August 26 and 28 promises to be a memorable weekend for Nayanthara.
