The 2019 National Awards were announced on Monday evening and ‘Jersey’ won the Best Telugu film in the regional category. Undoubtedly ‘Jersey’ deserves the award for its path breaking narration of a sports drama laced with strong emotions complemented by stunning performances of Natural star Nani and Shraddha Srinath.
Now ‘Jersey’ is getting remade in Hindi and a while back the shoot got wrapped up. Shahid Kapoor is essaying the lead role and upon the National Award, he congratulated the team of Telugu ‘Jersey.’
But Shahid feels it’s a huge burden to meet up the standards set by the Telugu version. “Huge congratulations to the entire team. Thanks for the extra pressure,” tweeted Shahid. That ‘Extra Pressure’ in his comments says it all.
Hindi ‘Jersey’ is being directed by the original maker too and it is slated for Diwali release.
