Burra Katha Heroine Arrested In Drugs Case

Actress Naira Shah who featured in Aadi Saikumar’s ‘Burra Katha’ has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Mumbai. This incident took place in the wee hours of Sunday morning but the news came out late.

Acting upon a tip, NCB held a raid at a hotel in Juhu where Naira was said to be consuming cannabis along with her friend Ashiq Sajid Husain during the former’s birthday party. During the search operations, the NCB seized one gram of cannabis.

Naira was arrested under IPC Section 274 which states that production/possession, sale/transport, storage, and consumption of any narcotic drug are prohibited and under the National Drugs & Psychotropic Substances Act.

After the arrest Naira and her friend were taken to hospital and conducted medical tests. As per media reports, the medical reports have it that the accused have consumed the banned drugs. The NCB later produced them before a local court. On Monday, they were granted bail by the court. The investigation is still on.
