The Paradise Doesn’t Underestimate Us: Nani

Natural Star Nani’s The Paradise, directed by Srikanth Odela and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri of SLV Cinemas is up for release on the 24th of this month. During the film’s Chennai press meet, Nani spoke at length about his deep connection with Tamil Nadu, his transformation into Jadal, and why The Paradise holds a special place in his career.

According to Nani, the film has been designed to balance emotion with the theatrical experience. “The Paradise doesn’t undermine us, underestimate us, or look down at us. It doesn’t believe that audiences will be satisfied with just a few gimmicks. Instead, it genuinely portrays a story with very strong emotion, while also delivering theatrical moments.”

His relationship with the Tamil audience, he explained, goes beyond film promotions. “Every time I come to Chennai, I say the same thing- it feels like home and family. The way the Tamil audience has owned me since Naan Ee and the kind of love I have received here is something very special. I make sure the quality of the Tamil dubbing is excellent and that the Tamil release is given the same importance.”

For Nani, the film has demanded an extraordinary level of commitment. “The Paradise is the most tiring film of my career. It is the film for which we have put in the most hard work, and it is also the most anticipated film of my career.”

The actor also spoke about his recurring musical partnership with Anirudh Ravichander, recalling how Jersey and Gang Leader became memorable collaborations. “I hope our relationship continues for a long time because I always feel that the kind of stories we choose to tell and the kind of heart Anirudh brings to the table make us a great combination.”

Director Srikanth Odela revealed that the emotional foundation of the film comes from a mother-son relationship. “The Paradise is a revolutionary film with a mother-son emotion. Nani played a rebellish character. How he fights for his mother, his emotions, and his land for their existence is the core emotion of the film.”

They also clarified that actress Kayadu Lohar is busy with other commitments, and she will join The Paradise promotions in a couple of days.
