CM’s Dinner Treat for Asian Games Medal Winners

India has crazy love for the sport of Cricket, and that is a matter of fact. But beyond that India does not have the reputation of encouraging other sports at large. This could be the reason why India, despite being the most populous country in the world has very few sporting accreditations beyond cricket.

There are occasional victories in events like the Olympics, Commonwealth games, Asia games and others. But the volume of victories are strictly limited. This is again due to the lack of adequate sporting infrastructure in the country.

Coming to the topic now, Tamil Nadu chief minister Thalapathy Vijay has started to do something very interesting with regard to the gold medalists at the recent Asian Games.

Apparently, Vijay will sit down for a dinner with Tamil medallist at the recent Asian games event. It is being established that the chief minister would make time to sit down and have dinner with them while actually discussing the sporting events.

Generally, when an athlete wins a medal, the respective state CM invites them for a brief discussion and hands over some money(cheques). There is not discussion or active participation in a conversation with them.

But CM Vijay is trying to do something out of the ordinary by actually sitting down with them and discuss what is what. This can help the chief minister gain adequate knowledge on the actual sporting infrastructure and move accordingly.

Vijay had already emphasised on sporting activities and even commissioning a sporting city near Chennai for athletes in Tamil Nadu. It is evident that he is actually putting an effort into sporting development and it’s good to see a CM who actually cares about this.
