Judge Frank Caprio, The Man Who Touched Many Hearts, Dies At 88

In a heartbreaking news for millions of fans across the world, legendary television judge, Frank Caprio, passed away on August 20. Frank was popular for his judgements filled with compassion, humility, and humour on the reality court show Caught in Providence. He fought a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer before finally bidding adieu to the world at 88. The news of Frank’s demise was announced on his Instagram account.

Frank Caprio, admired by his fans as the ‘Nicest Judge in the World,’ touched many lives with his warm demeanor and empathetic judgements. The Caught in Providence program was aired from 2018 to 2020 and won several Daytime Emmy nominations. Video clips of the show, featuring Frank forgiving minor infractions or offering words of wisdom and encouragement to the guilty, went viral and amassed more than a billion views on social media. 

Frank Caprio was born into an Italian-American family in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1936. He spent a major part of his life in Providence.
