Trump To Pause Migration From These Countries

A day after an Afghan national allegedly shot two National Guard soldiers near White House in Washington, US President Donald Trump escalated his anti-migration policy, announcing that he is planning to suspend migration from the “Third World Countries”.

The US termed the shooting as an ‘act of terror’.

“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover,” Trump wrote on social media. He also threatened to reverse millions of admissions granted under his predecessor Joe Biden, and to “remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States.” Trump added that he would end all federal benefits and subsidies to non-US citizens, as well as deport any foreign national who is a security risk or “non-compatible with Western Civilization.”

In the post, Trump also expressed a belief that only REVERSE MIGRATION alone can fully cure this situation. However, Trump did not name the Third World countries.

The concept of First, Second and Third World countries came into use in the mid-20th century during the Cold War. In this context, the First World countries include the US and its NATO allies, like Wester European nations, Japan and Australia. The Second World countries refer to the communist Soviet Union and its Eastern European allies, Cuba and China. The rest of the countries which were not backing either side in the Cold War were referred to as the Third World. These included Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America.

If divided in this context, India was among the non-aligned countries, according to the Cold War categorization. Historically, it could be listed as among the Third World countries. But, in modern days, India has been classified as a developing country. It is the fourth largest economy in the world.
