Jaahnavi Kandula’s Mother Plans Big Donation from Rs 260 Cr Compensation

The tragic death of Jaahnavi Kandula in the United States deeply moved people in both India and abroad. The young Telugu student lost her life in Seattle after a police vehicle struck her. Following legal proceedings, the Seattle authorities announced a compensation of 29 million dollars, which is approximately Rs 260 crore.

Amid this emotional time, a surprising and touching update has come out about Jaahnavi’s family. According to a close relative who shared details on social media, Jaahnavi’s mother Vijayalakshmi is considering donating a major portion of the compensation to Northeastern University, where Jaahnavi was studying.

The family reportedly feels grateful to the university and friends who supported them from the time of her death until her body was brought back to India and during the legal fight that followed.

The situation became even more painful as Jaahnavi’s father, Srikanth, passed away due to a heart attack just days before the compensation was officially announced. Relatives say he was unable to bear the grief of losing his daughter. The family is said to be emotionally shattered and not focused on the money.

There are also reports that Vijayalakshmi is planning to start the Jaahnavi Kandula Memorial Foundation. The foundation may focus on student safety, scholarships for Indian students going abroad, and support for single parent families.

The family’s decision has drawn attention, with many calling it a gesture that reflects dignity and gratitude even in deep sorrow.
