Telugu-origin Ananya Goli was honoured with the prestigious State Honourable Mention, awarded as part of Minnesota Aspirations in Computing (MnAiC), bringing pride to the Telugu people. She is among eight students chosen for the MnAiC awards this year.
The annual awards are given to students exhibiting talent and excellence in science and technology fields. The recognition is designed to help students build confidence, stay engaged in STEM and see themselves as future leaders in tech.
Ananya is the daughter of Goli Krishna Chaitanya and Sampa Sinha, belonging to Sattenapalli in Palnadu district. In 2014, they migrated to the US and settled there as software professionals.
Ananya is pursuing academics, equivalent to 10th grade, at the prestigious Eden Praire High School.
The awards are organised through the Minnesota Technology Foundaiton and affiliated with the National Centre for Women & Information Technology. The students winning the awards are recognised for their leadership, contributions to school and community, enthusiasm and their commitment to expanding access to computer science education.
