Dubai police have arrested several individuals, including a few Indian nationals, for recording footage of incoming missiles and drones on their mobile phones and sharing them on social media platforms
It is a known fact that Iranian military targeted American bases in Arab nations amidst recent geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. We have seen numerous social media posts capturing these attacks. However, local authorities in the UAE have cracked down on those posted these visuals and arrested several individuals.
Among those detained is Bhumesh, who allegedly posted some sensitive drone attacks on his social media platform. His sudden arrest has left his family back home in deep distress. According to family members, Bhumesh had moved to Dubai in November of last year in pursuit of better employment opportunities. His wife, two young children, and his mother live in their village.
During the heightened military operations between the US and Iran, Bhumesh reportedly captured videos of the missile strikes on his phone and uploaded them to his social media accounts. UAE authorities flagged the posts, leading to his arrest on charges of treason. He is currently being held in a Dubai prison.
Devastated by the news, his family appealed to the Telangana state government to intervene, coordinate with diplomatic channels, and take necessary measures to secure Bhumesh’s release.
