US Vice President JD Vance spoke to PM Narendra Modi over the phone last night, with the conversation focusing on India US relations and important global issues.
During the call, Modi and Vance reviewed the progress in the India US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. They discussed ways to further improve cooperation in key areas including trade, defence, technology, energy security and critical minerals.
The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments and issues of common interest.
The phone call comes at a time when India and the US are working to strengthen their strategic partnership across several important sectors. Both sides have been maintaining high level discussions on trade, defence and emerging technologies.
Apart from the official discussions, the call also had a personal moment. Modi congratulated JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance on the birth of their son and conveyed his best wishes to the family.
The conversation shows that India US ties continue to remain an important area of focus, with both countries looking to deepen cooperation on trade, security, technology and other strategic sectors.
