Rukmini Vasanth is not your typical South Indian actress. The daughter of Colonel Vasanth Venugopal, an Ashoka Chakra recipient who gave his life defending India’s borders, she trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London before entering films.
Her breakthrough came with Sapta Saagaradaache Ello in 2023, winning her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. Kantara: Chapter 1 in 2025 became her biggest film yet.
