Block G.O.: Jagan Puts Breaks To YSR’s formula

Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan has yet again set a new trend and this time on the ‘Block G.O.’ which recently shot to the headlines. CM Jagan reportedly informed his government and officials not to upload certain government orders (G.O.s) on the internet most importantly on the public domain.

Going into the story, a few days back the AP government has issued 14 G.O.s to the general administration department. However, in the government’s official website only four G.O.s’ were able to be accessed by common man while the rest of the 10 G.O.s are being blocked from viewing.

A G.O. related to the YSR awards and sanction of Rs 85 Lakh for the awards and three more G.O.s are clearly visible on the AP government’s web portal and the remaining 10 are blocked.

The main opposition TDP has raked up this row and questioned the YCP government on maintaining secrecy on these G.O.s. The TDP also demanded the state government to unblock these G.O.s and reveal what’s the big deal in these orders.

“Generally G.O. means Government Order but for YCP government it is ‘Golmal’ Order,” criticised the TDP leaders.

Amidst this, the state government has taken yet another crucial decision and it is to put the G.O.s in offline mode and hereafter would not appear in the public domain.

The formula of uploading government orders in government related portals began in 2008 in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh which means under YSR’s regime. Surprisingly Jagan has put breaks to his father’s idea and is taking his own route. Currently many states are following the similar trend of hiding the G.O.s as oppositions are taking advantage of these and cornering the ruling parties.
