Telangana CM KCR’s brainchild ‘Telanganaku Haritha Haaram’ is going to hit the pockets of MLAs, MPs, IAS, IPS officers and even students.
In the on-going Assembly sessions, a discussion on ‘Haritha Haaram’ took place and during this, the TRS government claimed that ‘Haritha Haaram’ achieved a lot in the last seven years.
Then speaking CM KCR announced Telangana Haritha Fund (TS Green Fund) to take up more plantations in the coming days. However, this fund needs money and so CM KCR said that money to this fund will be contributed by all MLAs, MPs, bureaucrats and even students.
As said by KCR, MLAs and MPs will be contributing Rs 500 from their salary towards TS Green fund while IAS and IPS officers will donate Rs 100 and government employees will contribute Rs 25 monthly. School, college students were not left out and they were asked to make a one-time contribution. This one-time payment should be cleared during the time of admissions and the amount is fixed as per stand wise. Rs 5 for elementary schools, Rs 15 for High Schools, Rs 25 Intermediate, Rs 50 for degree and Rs 100 for professional course admissions.
MIM MLA Akaruddin Owaisi read the report on ‘Haritha Haaram’ and he added that the government’s expenditure on this initiative and the results are poles apart. He said according to the Forest Survey of India (FSI) the forest cover of India has increased in Telangana by 3.67 percent between 2014 and 2017 and the state government has spent Rs 1396 crore for the same.
