YCP Is More Happy Than BJP On Modi Visit?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Andhra Pradesh next week (on November 11 and 12) and even though the PMO is yet to finalise the schedule details, the YCP and BJP are at loggerheads ahead of Modi’s visit. The YCP leaders are widely promoting that PM Modi will take part in a few developmental works including Railway Zone headquarters and the ruling party is claiming credit for it.

Meanwhile the AP BJP seems to have no information on Modi’s visit and when asked by a few leaders, they replied that they have not yet received any details. On the other hand, the Vizag district administration has commenced preparations for PM Modi’s visit. AP IT minister Gudivada Amarnath held a meeting with Vizag district administration and discussed about Modi’s two days visit.

For this meeting, Waltair Railway Divisional Manager received a call while the BJP was excluded which surprised many. On 12th of this month, a huge public gathering is planned in Vizag and the officials estimate that around one lakh people might make it. Regarding this public meeting, YCP minister Amarnath asked the officials to make appropriate arrangements for transportation of the public.

Generally for PM Modi’s visit, the AP BJP receives information and they would take care of gathering the public and in a twist, the YCP is doing the arrangements this time. But the only info that the AP BJP has is, Modi will land in Vizag on 11th evening/night and they were asked to hold a road rally.

Suspense on Railway Zone

And the suspense continues on the Railway Zone to Vizag. It’s been three years that the Modi government announced the South Coast Railway Zone to Vizag but the process is still in DPR (Detailed Project Report) stages. Recently when the Union Home Ministry held a meeting, the Railway Board Chairman commented that establishing a Railway Zone is not feasible and this has called for an outrage. Sensing trouble Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw rectified that the Railway Zone proposal is in pipeline.

Amidst this the YCP has entered the scene and is campaigning that PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Railway Zone headquarters in Vizag. Pro YCP media are publishing that the Railway Zone office will be spread across 11 acres and would cost Rs 108 crore. Learning about YCP’s campaign, the AP BJP met on Monday and is fuming that the credit has gone to YCP when BJP leaders worked tirelessly for the Railway Zone. Some AP BJP leaders informed the Delhi BJP leaders to exclude Railway Zone works from PM Modi’s visit as it would do more damage for the party.

So it’s the YCP versus BJP in view of Modi’s tour of AP. Who will win this rat race?
