Minister Malla Reddy has levelled serious allegations against the Income Tax officials who raided his son and son-in-law’s properties. Coming in front of the media, Malla Reddy alleged that his son Mahender Reddy was beaten by CRPF personnel at the behest of the Income Tax Department officials. Malla Reddy alleged his son was beaten in the chest and that’s the reason behind his chest pain. While Mahender Reddy is rushed to a private hospital for the treatment, Malla Reddy alleged that the Central government officials are not allowing him to see his son who is hospitalized.
Malla Reddy told media persons, “I didn’t run a casino business. I didn’t run any real-estate business. My family is into the education business where we made several engineers, doctors and managers for future generations. Income Tax officials are free to conduct their searches and raids, but they have no right to beat anyone physically. If they find any irregularities, they can tax us or even take possession of them. But they have no right to touch anyone physically. We’re going to file police cases against those who had beaten my son.”
Malla Reddy came down heavily on the BJP for resorting to such cheap tactics and targeting TRS leaders. He said he being the TRS minister is the reason he is being targeted. He alleged that BJP is afraid of the rise of the TRS and since the party is foraying into national politics, their party leaders are targeted personally. He said TRS leaders won’t fear such tactics of the BJP.
