YCP’s mouthpiece Vijayasai Reddy found himself in a wrong foot for taking credit which should actually belong to TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. Going into the story, Korean carmaker Kia’s new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Karens has won Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) award.
Claiming that this is a victory of YCP government, Vijaysai Reddy took to Twitter and wrote, “Proud to note that ‘made in Andhra Pradesh’ Kia Carens has won the Indian Car of the Year award 2023. We are proud of the Kia facility in Anantapur which was started with production of 57,719 in 2019 and touched 2.27 lakh in 2021! Kia makes in AP and exports to the world.”
This tweet of Vijayasai was not well received by netizens because they remember his old tweet which dates back to 2019 when Kia opened their manufacturing unit in AP under TDP’s regime. On March 11, 2019, Vijayasai tweeted that then CM Chandrababu Naidu’s government gave Rs 2000 crore incentive to KIA and indirectly benefited from getting commission. The YCP MP also alleged that KIA was not providing employment to the locals.
Netizens and TDP social media dug this old tweet of Vijayasai Reddy and are trolling him for taking the credit which should incidentally go to Chandrababu Naidu who put a lot of effort in bringing this investment.
Vijayasai Reddy may have criticised TDP and Naidu then but time has its own way of giving it back. It would be wise on Vijayasai Reddy if he at least acknowledges Naidu’s work instead of foul mouthing all the time.
