Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his wife Bharati, who is also the MD of were served court notices this morning. The YCP government issued a GO directing the volunteers and staff in the Secretariat to buy such a newspaper which would inform them and the public about various government schemes and also has a good reach. Along with this, the government also sanctioned Rs 200 to each of the volunteers and the Secretariat staff asking them to buy such a news daily.
The Eenadu Group, owned by Ushodaya Publications, challenged the GO in the Supreme Court stating that the GO, issued in a hurry, was aimed at Improving the circulation of Jagan-owned Jagati Publications, which owns Sakshi.
Responding to this, the apex court directed the officials to take up the investigation of the case in the Delhi High Court but not the AP High Court. The Delhi High Court made the Mangalagiri local court to issue the notices.
The court staff reportedly reached Jagan’s residence and served the notices.
