TDP Planning For Mass Resignation

The TDP is trying to use the arrest of the party supremo Chandrababu Naidu’s to gain the sympathy of the electorate. There is information that the TDP graph has increased after Naidu’s arrest.

To turn the arrest into the party’s favour, all the 21 party MLAs are planning to tender resignation, en masse, to expose the anarchy of the YCP government to the entire nation. Political analysts said that the mass resignation proposal might not be able to bring about any Constitutional crisis as bypolls would not be conducted, with the Assembly elections just 8 months away. The party would be able to gain sympathy by letting people know how Naidu was arrested without proper evidence and proofs, they said.

Earlier, the BRS also used this mass resignation salvo during the Separate Telangana movement. They expressed their strong support to the separate Telangana state by sacrificing their MLA seats in the united Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP cadre is also contemplating to launch “Babu Tho Nenu” awareness programmes throughout Andhra Pradesh. The logo for the programme has also been released, party sources said. This will help the people know that Naidu’s arrest was done only as part of political retribution, the party activists said.

The party activists are also planning to stage relay hunger strike in mandal and constituency levels across the state. Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari and daughter-in-law Brahmani will also take part in the party’s campaigning. They will also tell the people that the YCP government had been harassing both their family and the party cadre by foisting false cases against them. They would ask the people to do justice to them, by taking a wise decision while voting.

The TDP is of the opinion that if the two women get into the field, they would be able to garner the support of the women voters in the state. There is information that the Bhuvaneswari and Brahmani would also raise the issue of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s use and throw attitude, in the sense how he had utilized the services of his mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila during padayatra and his imprisonment, and finally he dumped both of them after coming to power. Speaking about this with the people would also raise some aversion towards Jagan and if the TDP is able to bag all the sympathy, victory is certain for the party in the upcoming elections, political observers felt.

It has to be seen if the TDP would stick to all its plans to reap the best benefits, ahead of the elections.
