Ator-turned-politician Vijayashanthi accused the BJP of maintaining a secret alliance with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), asserting that despite labeling him as “corrupt,” the BJP failed to take action against him.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad, she expressed disappointment that central agencies such as the ED conducted searches on various leaders, but not on KCR. Vijayashanthi questioned why the BJP, which has initiated actions against other leaders, is not taking similar steps against KCR, whom she referred to as the “most corrupt person.” This accusation comes amid heightened political activity in the run-up to the Telangana assembly polls.
Vijayashanthi’s remarks followed her recent resignation from the BJP and her rejoining of the Congress party on Friday in the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge. The veteran actress, who initially left Congress and joined the saffron party in 2020, highlighted the lack of BJP’s action against KCR as a significant factor in her decision. Vijayashanthi, who began her political career in 2009 and was elected from the Medak Lok Sabha seat on a BRS (then TRS) ticket, expressed her discontent with the BJP’s approach and alluded to a secret pact between the BJP and BRS.
