Parties Spending Huge On Digital Campaigning

With the Assembly polls just 10 days away, various political parties in Telangana are slogging to influence the electorate. The candidates who filed nominations for the upcoming elections are campaigning extensively hopping from one place to the other in their constituencies and even neighbouring ones addressing public meetings and roadshows.

At the same time, the leadership of various political parties had also intensified the campaigning by spending huge bucks on advertising through the audio visual media. With the use of mobile phones being extensive, the political parties have released some videos, targeting the rival parties’ failure.

In the last 7 days, the political parties have spent a bomb to get these videos played on the internet.

The BRS had spent the most, to the tune of Rs 24,509,000 while next came the Congress spending Rs 18,854,000 and the BJP spend just Rs 7,84,500.

Now, this raised several doubts over why the BJP, which is ambitious to have a foothold in Telangana, has spent much less when compared to its rival parties.

The Congress ad campaign “#Marpu Kavali – Congress Raavali’ has some interesting visuals and logic that had an impact on the electorate and general viewers alike. The videos highlighted the failures of the ruling BRS in delivering the promises made during the hustings and also boasted of the six guarantees that the Congress made promised to the people in Telangana.

Now, it has to be seen if the videos did really create awareness among the voters which would reflect when they exercise their franchise.
