TDP MP Galla Jayadev announced a break from full-time politics stating that he needed more time to focus on family and his business establishments.
Speaking to media-persons after a farewell meeting, he said that it was becoming difficult for him to keep juggling between business, politics and family life since his father Galla Ramachandra Naidu’s retirement, two years ago.
He also alleged that his businesses were being put under the scanner by various investigating agencies and said that his phones were also being tapped, as he was being vocal on various public issues.
He indirectly hinted that both the central and state governments were targeting him and his business firms. He said that he was not able to speak against the central government due to “political limitations” and against the state due to “business limitations”.
He reminded that he had been vocal in fighting for Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and also opposed the idea of three capitals.
Further, Jayadev said that he was taking a break from politics as he cannot remain silent against injustice. However, he promised to return to politics after sometime.
Galla Ramachandra Naidu retired from the chairman post of Amaara Raja Group, two years ago.
It may be recalled that the YCP-led state government also put several hurdles in Jayadev’s path by raising concerns against his business firms alleging that they were leaving carbon footprint and polluting the environment.
Unable to withstand the ‘harassment’ from the YCP, Galla Jayadev altered his plans and set up the extended unit of their firm in neighbouring Telangana.
Jayadev’s sympathisers hailed him for being vocal in raising public issues and also showing dignity in his demeanor and attitude.
