The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) office was set up at Buddha Bhavan in Secunderabad, according to a government order.
HYDRAA’s responsibilities include protecting government lands, lakes, drainage lines, parks and playgrounds.
HYDRAA’s jurisdiction spans across Hyderabad’s ORR and the area it encompasses in the middle, which includes the three police commissionerates.
The police station has been established with to streamline the registration and probe into cases related to land disputes. HYDRAA can file cases against land grabbers, miscreants damaging property and other cases related to protection of assets.
So far, all these cases used to be handled by the regular police stations.
Cases will be registered based on directives from the HYDRAA commissioner.
